Rosado, will be featured during The Kiva Presents… Artist of the
Month series this May. Mr. Castillo will be on hand from 12:30 to 4:30 PM to
speak with Museum patrons. He will also give an educational presentation to
patrons and students about the cross cultural impact between the Mayan
Indians and the May 7 – September 5: Trails and Rails Trips Narrated excursions aboard Amtrak’s Southwest Chief depart La Junta, Colorado on Mondays and Fridays for overnight trips to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Follow the Mountain Branch of the Santa Fe Trail up and over Raton Pass while learning the stories of people, plants and animals along the way. La Junta Raceway June 9th & 10th: Living History Encampment Visit the 1840s with teachers, students and living history volunteers and staff perfecting their 19th century skills. The encampment, which begins June 8, trains participants in presenting living history to the public. Event is open for public to view ongoing demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday, June 10 – 11. Pre-registration is required for the full encampment (participation is limited). Camps from Pike to Long to Fremont will grace the site – joining the camps of Plains Tribes and Santa Fe traders. Over 60 living history volunteers bring the post back to life during this major event!
